I was born in the Ukraine, a former Soviet
republic, and lived there most of my life. Since 2006 I live in California, trying to keep my spirit of creativity alive.
I started making clocks not too long ago, in 2004. Perhaps, this was the result of my lifelong love of the arts. Since
my early childhood I have been fond of drawing, molding, and working with various materials. I have always enjoyed making things with
my hands. I like putting different things and parts together; I like the process in which unusual compositions come out from
common, everyday things. As a result of my work, I am able to create things that stir imagination, that will make one think.
I use anything I can get a hold of: wood, tree branches, horns, beads, clock parts, rocks, various metal parts, leather, ceramics. I like working with different vintage things and parts. Oftentimes, material itself suggests the idea for a future creation. Materials literally are found scattered under my feet, like pieces of old furniture, precious pieces of old wood darkened from the weather and time. Some things or parts I buy at flea markets.
I just like it all...
